My story

My interest in journalism and medicine started as a young adult, equally inspired by science documentaries, Doctors Without Borders, and newspaper correspondents.

I pursued my love for both fields in college and graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in journalism and mass communication. I later earned a certificate in editing from Poynter/American Copy Editors Society (ACES), as well as in food, nutrition, and health from ALLEGRA Learning Solutions.

In my career, I've embraced the traditional and digital methods of storytelling and editing to reach audiences worldwide, first as a news journalist/editor and now as a medical communications specialist.
